Foot reflexology 1 hour session
Service Description
Foot reflexology is a non-invasive integrative health practice. It's origins date back as far as 2500 BC. Reflexology has many benefits, the primary benefit is an increase in circulation. Other benefits include relaxation, stress reduction, promoting sleep, and homeostasis which is a balance of all bodily systems so the body can function optimally. When there is good blood flow, it's easier for our body to restore itself when we feel good. What is the difference between Massage and reflexology? Reflexology has various levels of applied manual pressure on specific zones of the feet to promote a distal effect on your organs and glands. Where as massage is pressure applied to that specific muscular-skeletal aspect of the body. Massage is performed by a massage therapist, Reflexology is provided by a reflexologist. In massage your clothes are removed, In reflexology, only your shoes and socks are removed. Who shouldn't receive foot reflexology? -Anyone with contagious, infectious skin diseases -Any unexplained rashes, or open areas with drainage. -Diarrhea or vommitting -Fractures in the foot -Blood clots -Gout -Ingrown toe nails -Phlebitis, cellulitis or gangrene -1st trimester pregnancy or High risk pregnancy ( Other trimesters are encouraged to book) During a foot reflexology session with me, you will lay on a comfortable table with a pillow under your head and knees for comfort, and a blanket is offered. Soft music will be playing in the background as you allow your body to truly relax. Your shoes and socks will be removed, and a warm foot cleanse will begin the session. Guided imagery is always available for those who keep their eyes open. Water is also provided after every session.
